Haircuts, Veteran's Day, etc

Dantzel and I at basketball. I must have the touch!
Lindsay, Dave and Dantzel cheering on Brooklyn

Mason helping to make kettle corn for the entire 4th grade. We made 80 bags! There was soooo much sugar on my floor afterwards!

Her new hat, scarf and "glubs." I was so glad that they are still "glubs"! I am not ready for her to grow up yet!

Mason got to carry the flag for his Veteran's Day performance! He did such a great job! Next year he will be in middle school!

Our new haircuts! Thanks Aunt Lisa!

I was a really bad blogger this last time in Idaho, but that is going to change because starting tomorrow, we will ALWAYS be in Idaho! Also, we were super busy with adoption stuff (home study and paperwork, HOLY COW!) Maddy and I got some long overdue haircuts. She looks like such a big girl with it straight, but it looks so cute. Now that is what she ask for every day! Whenever we talk about adopting a baby, she asks, "Will I be big?" I think she is excited to be a big sister! We had our home study done for the adoption.
For those of you that don't know, it is a visit by a licensed social worker where she interviews you with tons of questions, looks at your house, and decides if you will make good parents. This process also requires about 30 pages of paperwork, copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, references, medical clearances, and copies of financial documents. ( I know, I know, anyone can get pregnant and have a baby, but if you want to adopt, you better be perfect. Don't get me started!) Our social worker came on the 4th, interviewed Dave and I, toured our house, and talked with the kids. She asked the kids if they had any rules at our house and what they were. (At MY HOUSE? of COURSE!) Dawson replied, "Oh, when we make our beds, we have to pull our sheet all the way to the top!" Ha ha! Seriously, that was the "rule" he could think of? It isn't even a rule, just my neurotic way of making sure they do it right! I was laughing so hard. At least they mastered the other important questions! We got a positive recommendation, so we should be on the official waiting list sometime this week! Wish us luck!
