My mom flew me home for a week in July to see my family! I think it had something to do with me crying on the phone a few weeks before about missing them! :)
I flew in on a Monday, had lunch with Mame on Tuesday and immediately went to get highlights and a haircut to cover my horrible roots! It looks soooooo much better, and NO ONE is ever touching my hair again unless they work at Arra Salon. Kate and Riley came in Tuesday afternoon, which was so much fun because we never told Riley I was coming! He was like, "Is that Shesha?" I can't belive how big he has gotten! Wednesday, Mom took Riley so that Kate and I could have some time together. We went and had manicures and pedicures at our favorite place in Legacy, went to PF Changs (awesome Gluten Free menu), Whole Foods and Borders. We never even went in the mall, which is very unusual, but then again, we didn't have Mom's wallet! :) We got home just in time to see our Iowa relatives, Larry, Irene, Karen and Lili!
Thursday we went to the outlets (I miss shopping at cool places!) and had our favorite, Notso Fries from Yours Truly. It was kind of sad to not have any 5 Fingers, but I will have to get used to it. Friday morning I went on a 12 mile run with Lili, and we had the best time! We talked so much that we didn't even realize how far we had gone! I love Hudson Springs Park! It was so much easier to run in lower altitude, but I sweat a lot more with the humidity. We celebrated Lili's birthday that night, after lounging at the pool all afternoon. I took Riley to the pool by myself for a little while, and he was so excited that I would let him go down the slide head first! He also really enjoyed my Goofy dance :)
The Iowa people left on Saturday, and we were supposed to go to the lake to jetski, but since it rained, we spent the day hanging out. Every night was spent staying up really late to play Euchre! As usual, I left feeling sleep deprived and suffering from Diet Coke dehydration (right Kate?) It was so much fun, and of course, very hard to say goodbye to everyone. I hate not knowing when I will see everyone again, but hopefully it will be soon. I had the best time. Thanks so much Mom!
