Our Oregon Trip!

Dave and I were really brave and took all 4 kids to Oregon for 2 whole weeks (actually 15 days, but who's counting?) In order to get there, we had to drive 8 hours in the Acadia with 2 weeks worth of clothes, games, and groceries as well as 2 bikes, 2 sets of rollerblades and 2 sets of golf clubs! The kids were GREAT travelers, and the traveling went really smoothly thanks to the Leapsters and Vtech (Whatever happened to playing my father runs a grocery store and the license plate game?)We had a lot of fun on the trip. Dave had to work way more than usual (what are the odds?), but we had a good time.
As you all know, I am the evil stepmother, so they had to do math, reading, scriptures and bathe every single day! Can you believe it? We went to a parade and carnival with the Floyds, 2 graduation parties, swam at the local hotel, had dinner with friends, and spent a lot of time at the park! We had a really good system at the park where Mason, Brooklyn and I would run while Dawson and Maddy rode their bikes around the loop! One day Mason ran 5.5 miles, Brooklyn ran 3 miles and Maddy ran a whole mile also! We watched a lot of our favorite movies, did fun crafts, and the kids helped me with my Achievement Day activities. We even played in the rain one day!
My favorite part of the trip was Mother/Daughter Camping with the ward. We went with our friends, Joelene and Samantha and stayed overnight in a tent. I like camping with Joelene because we all had a cot or air mattress and tons of really warm blankets! Maddy laid in bed with me and said, "I am sooo happy!" It was a lot of work, but we think that the kids had a lot of fun! (They better have!)
