The Perfect Example

I know that I may be a little biased, and all of the kids are great, but Madelyn just might be the most perfect child. She is always happy, obedient, helpful, very rarely complains ( she is 3 remember), and just makes us smile all the time! She was my little shadow this last time in Idaho, and I wish I could just have a camera rolling the whole time she is with me. Lately, she has been interested in helping me in the kitchen, particularly with cracking the eggs. When Maddy does this, the term "gentle" is the absolute opposite of how she does it! She grabs the whole egg, squeezes both hands around it, and crushes it to the best of her ability! Now the funny part of this is that she rarely gets any shells in the bowl! Lots of egg on her hands, but little shell in the bowl! Go Madds!
Another favorite Maddy moment is when Dave was talking to her on the phone and he accidentally said, "Hi Bud!" Annoyed, she replied, "I not a bud. I Maddy!" It is one of our favorite lines, and we constantly call her a "bud" just to get her response.
Any one that knows Maddy knows that she is one tough cookie. She is not afraid to do things that the older kids do at all. Her Aunts and Uncles were shocked at what she will do in the pool, and I'm sure she would go down any water slide if they would let her go with her water wings! One day Dawson was trying to convince her to play house and she said matter-of-factly, "No Daws. I want to play backetball."
Other cute Maddy-isms:
*She counts like this: "Five, six, Even..."
*She will start singing whenever she hears a word to a song that she might know. For example, Dave said the word "tomorrow" and Maddy started belting out the theme song to Annie.
*She has a particular order that she wants her songs sung to her at night, and I've forgotten the real words to most of them because I sing it how she does. (If the kids have a speech problem when they are older it is because I never wanted them to correctly say their l's, w's, and r's.)
*She has to unlock the car door with her "keys" every time she gets in and out
* She randomly says, "I love you" to us throughout the day! How sweet!

I could go on and on about this cute little girl, but I won't. I just wanted everyone to know about her sweet spirit and the joy she brings to my life everyday! Now there may be a post in about 10 years about her driving us crazy, you never know, so please refer me back to this post!

This egg has no idea what is coming!
