Maddy and Declan fell asleep watching a movie. So sweet!
This is how Rowan left church the other day due to a "code brown" situation! It was hilarious.
What a nice brother. Dave said he looks like King Kong in this picture.
Rowan tried to pick him up by his shirt after this picture! Declan better learn to be tough!
Enjoying some tummy time while watching us eat dinner.
Making Mason's Beignets (a dessert from New Orleans that he learned about in school)
We have been pretty busy figuring out our routine again with 2 babies. The kids had off school Monday and Tuesday and it was nice to just relax. Mason had basketball on Saturday, so we spent the day in Idaho Falls. Rowan and Declan are good sports about getting dragged to basketball all of the time. Mason is studying about New Orleans in social studies, so we made a special dessert that he tried at school. Declan also visited the kids classes so that they could show him off, no one could touch of course. He is three weeks old and now weighs 6lbs 2 oz. I can tell he is bigger, but everyone still says he is so tiny!
We have also been sick for 2 weeks! Declan and I dealt with thrush and a nasty eye virus, while Rowan has been dealing with a cough since Thanksgiving. He is now doing much better after 2 rounds of antibiotics and breathing treatments. On top of all of this, I got a sinus infection and sore throat + sleep deprived= very emotional mother. Declan thinks that he lives in China and wants to be up from 10pm-2am. He doesn't cry, just makes "quacking" noises and is wide awake the whole time. He and I have got to figure something out quick! We are now all feeling better, so that should make things easier.
We attempted church for the first time with all 6 kids and it was interesting to say the least. We were almost late (starts at 1pm), Declan had no pacifier or socks (they were on when I got him dressed!), Maddy was wearing princess socks over her tights, Declan pooped through his onesie, and with 10 minutes left, Rowan pooped through everything! He left church in just his corduroy jacket and diaper. It was hysterical, but we definitely have to improve our technique or I won't be going to church until they turn 3!
We have managed to go to WINCO (mega grocery store) and the dentist with everyone, of course Dave was home to help. With all 6 kids home yesterday, I quickly realized that my house will never stay clean for more than an hour ever again and I will never be fully caught up on laundry. I need to be okay with this or I will end up on medication!
Declan and Rowan are two of the best babies ever. We are so spoiled! Rowan loves to kiss his brother and is just a happy-go-lucky kid. Declan (or Dex as the kids call him) hardly ever cries and is really relaxed. The older kids have been really helpful too: Mason is good at putting Rowan and Declan to sleep, Brooklyn helps change diapers and make bottles, while Dawson and Maddy entertain Rowan like crazy. No one can make him laugh like Dawson can! They all help put Rowan in his car seat and buckle him too, which is nice because it takes me awhile to do both kids in the freezing cold!
Overall, we are doing great! Although sleep deprived, I am so happy with my wonderful family!
Next post will have pictures from Rowan's first birthday!
